Why to isolate the error

More than 95% of all reported errors are not caused by ThemeWare, but by 3rd-party plugins or incorrect configurations. For an excellent service and for solving your problem effectively, we ask you today to help us isolating and solving your problem.


At the beginning, please empty your cache after each change and conduct the compilation of your theme.

Please follow the below instructions after each adjustment in ThemeWare:


  • Empty your Shopware cache
  • Compile your theme
  • Reload your shop frontend in your browser with Cache-Refresh
    • Windows: STRG + Shift + F5
    • Mac: command + Shift + R


Theme error isolation

So that the error can be limited to the causing Theme, please check the following:


  1. Does the error occur in the Shopware Standard Responsive Theme?
    1. Please activate the Standard Theme and assign it to the shop (don't use it in preview mode)
    2. Empty cache, compile Theme, reload your browser with Cache-Refresh (see above)
  2. If yes / If the error occurs in the Standard Theme
    1. ThemeWare does not cause the problem
    2. Please continue with "Errror isolation on plugin" (see below)
  3. If no / If the error does not occur in the Standard Theme
    1. Do you use an extension of ThemeWare?
      1. If yes
        1. Please activate the initial ThemeWare.
        2. Empty cache, compile Theme, reload your browser with Cache-Refresh (see above) 
        3. Does the error still exist?
      2. Does the error exist on different browsers?
      3. Please continue with "Errror isolation on plugin" (see below)


Error isolation on plugin

To check which plugin is causing the error, please check the following:


  1. Deactivate all plugins not provided by Shopware (except of ThemeWare)
    1. Empty cache, compile Theme, reload your browser with Cache-Refresh (see above) 
  2. Does the error still exist?
  3. If yes / if the error still exists
    1. Please continue with "Send error isolation"
  4. If no / if the error doesn't exist anymore
    1. Please activate one plugin after the other
    2. After each plugin activation repeat the following actions: Empty cache, compile Theme, reload your browser with Cache-Refresh (see above) 
    3. Check if the error occurs again
      1. If no / if the error doesn't exist anymore
        1. Please activate the next plugin
      2. If yes / if the error still exists
        1. You identified the plugin causing the error
        2. Please deactivate the plugin and continue to activate the other plugins one after another
        3. Please contact the respective third party


Error isolation and transfer of login data

In order to solve the issue for you, please send us your problem description and the findings of the error isolation by e-mail. The following information is essential to us and needs to be included in your mail:


  • Error occurs as well in the Shopware Standard Theme
  • Error occurs in ThemeWare only (I have checked, that the error does not occur in the Standard Theme)
  • I am using a ThemeWare extension
    • The error occurs as well in the initial ThemeWare version
  • The error occurs in browser XYZ only
  • The error occurs in multiple browsers
  • All plugins are deactivated (except the ones provided by Shopware), Shopware Cache is emptied, Theme compiled, Browser reloaded with Cache-Refresh but the error still occurs
  • The plugin XYZ causes the error
